“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you, I am going there to prepare a place for you, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
To have the unique opportunity to read the words of Jesus Christ is truly a holy moment in time. To read and understand what our Savior, Jesus Christ, wants to tell us is truly sanctifying.
Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled
The words of exhortation, “Do not let your hearts be troubled,” convey great concern and a willingness to bring peace in the midst of trial. It is said that the holiday season can be very difficult for many. Our omniscient, all knowing, God understands and knows your heartache and trouble. Our omnipresent, always present everywhere, God is with you, where you are, at your point of need. Jesus exhorts you to trust in God and in my Father. Jesus exhorts you, trust in Me, I am trustworthy,
Let these words encourage you today. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is actively involved in your life now and in your future. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is making preparations for you for an eternity with Him.
Do you know the way to the place Jesus is going?
In our passage today, Christ is guaranteeing His Gospel message, “I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
Romans 10:9-10 says, “That if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Be of great courage, Scripture tells us in Romans 10:13, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
We can overcome with Christ
The words of exhortation, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” also convey that in this world, believers and followers of Christ are not immune to the world’s troubles. We can overcome with Christ as our trusted Savior and friend.
Jesus is the way to live eternally with Almighty God in Heaven.
Jesus is the truth, in Him there is no deception in His Words
Jesus is the life, life everlasting.
Ponder Theses Truths
What is Holy Spirit seeking to say to you?
Is he saying, “You can do this.”
Is he saying, “It’s time for a change?”
Is he saying, “Turn to Christ.”
Is he saying, “Believe.”
Is he saying, “Trust.”
Is he saying, “Stand firm.”
Is he saying, “Don’t give up.”
Christ sent the Holy Spirit to encourage believers that we can overcome in Christ.
When troubles rise, I am reminded of two hymns of encouragement with selected lyrics.
- Just a Closer Walk With Thee
I am weak but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee
Thro’ this world of toil and snares
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
Just a closer walk with Thee
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be
- What a Friend We Have in Jesus
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.
Let these words encourage you today.
